Iweng's first solo-exhibition in Bali, the fruit of 14 years of work, the unprecedented reunion of 16 canvases which altogether outline IWENG‘s surreal ability to roam free in his (sub)consciousness, to depict the fruit of his perceptions and intuitions.
We are pleased to present IWENG’s first solo exhibition in Bali, ‘Glowrification’.
It’s not given to many to be as equally valuable in daylight and in the dark. IWENG’s relentless - yet always playful - artistic quest led him to find what he calls his “diamond” in 2009. The depth and vividness of his visions could not be contained into mere hues, it had to be given another quality: to glow in the dark.
By fusing fluorescent pigments with traditional oil, he invented his own technique, and set himself free from the fine art straitjacket that was condescending this medium as no artist so far had managed to elevate it into a noble art.
IWENG body of work provides a vibrant evidence of the multi-layered nature of reality, of non-separateness between realms, of continuum between light and darkness. It is a peculiar experience to witness his paintings transmuting as the sun goes down.
As if a new dimension was unlocked.
As if another sun rose.
Metaphor of a gateway into an elevated level of consciousness. IWENG’s glowing brushstrokes takes you where you were not expecting to go.

As we just celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Manifesto of Surrealism, IWENG glowriously embodies André Breton’s core belief: where rationality has failed to save humanity, imagination and fantasy is an open gate to freedom...
